Our mission is to support and encourage this creativity, helping children from all backgrounds to explore their talents and express themselves freely.
Why Creativity Matters.
Creativity is more than just a fun activity for kids—it’s a critical aspect of their growth and education. Through creative pursuits, children learn to:
Build Confidence: Completing a creative project, whether it’s a drawing, a song, or a story, gives children a sense of accomplishment and boosts their self-esteem.
Express Themselves: Creativity provides a safe space for kids to explore their thoughts and emotions, helping them to communicate feelings they might not have the words for.
Enhance Cognitive Skills: Creative activities improve problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities. They encourage children to look at problems from different angles and come up with innovative solutions.
Foster Social Skills: Collaborative creative projects teach kids how to work together, share ideas, and appreciate the perspectives of others. This is essential for building empathy and strong interpersonal relationships.
Splash Art and Games
Global Education Connection (GEC) recently spent a wonderful week with KidsRainbow in Gaziantep, Türkiye, bringing smiles to Syrian refugee children through fun and creative activities. We all enjoyed splash art together, covering canvases with bright colors and having a great time. Games brought us closer, filling each day with laughter, while mask-making sessions let kids design colorful, unique masks to express their creativity. This week was full of fun and connection, capturing GEC’s mission to support and uplift refugee communities with joyful and meaningful experiences.
Beyond the art and games, this week allowed us to build trust, share stories, and create lasting memories with the children, reminding us all of the power of community and support.

Voice of Refugee
Global Education Connection’s Summer Art Workshops provide creative opportunities for refugee children from around the world
In the summer of 2024, we engaged with over 30 children through activities such as clay sculpting, painting, stop-motion animation, and glitter jars for emotional support.
These workshops, developed in partnership with Voice of Refugee, offer a therapeutic and fun environment for children and youth, including those from Afghanistan and Syria.
Children Refugee Center
Global Education Connection partnered with the Children Refugee Center to offer Summer Art Workshops for Latin American refugee children from countries such as El Salvador, Ecuador, Venezuela, Colombia, and parts of Mexico.
In the summer of 2024, we served close to 20 children through activities like clay sculpting, painting, stop-motion animation, and glitter jars for emotional support. Additionally, we introduced music therapy to help children express themselves and heal through sound and rhythm.
We are also proud to have a dedicated team of volunteers from across the art and animation industries who generously contribute their time and expertise.
We look forward to expanding our programs in future summers to continue serving refugee communities.
