Meet Kathryn
Originating from the quaint town of Shamokin, Pennsylvania, Kathryn relocated to Harrisburg with her family in 2020. Kathryn graduated in May 2024 Summa Cum Laude from Manhattan College with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Outside of the classroom, Kathryn proudly represented her college on the Model United Nations team and hosted two radio shows with Manhattan’s student station.
As GEC’s Podcast Director, Kathryn co-hosts “GEC: Important Talks,” weaving each episode into a compelling narrative to describe current events related to children, human rights, and education. She also oversees all post-production intricacies. Her innate drive to connect with listeners, evidenced through interactive Q&A sessions and listener polls, is a testament to her unwavering commitment to the mission.
Kathryn’s roots in one of Pennsylvania’s economically constrained regions have given her a profound appreciation for education’s transformative power. The resources that supported her academic aspirations now drive her commitment at GEC — ensuring every child, no matter their circumstances, is afforded the chance to achieve their potential.
